i just read chapter 26 and it sounded like walt whitman to me. google then led me here.

like probably tens of thousands of college students, i gave up on moby dick after a hundred pages or so in college. but now, three decades or so later, i am finding moby dick incredible and irresistible. tiny chapter 23, for example, is great.

so - if you are older - see if moby dick works for you now too. i agree w sean. go back and see.

ps for what it is worth, i am 'reading' this book on tape, being spoken by an excellent 'voice' guy. that may be a factor in my happy return to this book.
